About the Launches

The Neely Henry Lake Association installed the first assisted launch devices available to the public on Neely Henry Lake. This benefits paddlers and contributes to the overall improvement of waterway access in our local community. There are two of these launches, called “Yakports”, one at Coosa Landing in Gadsden and the other at Rainbow Landing in Rainbow City, AL.

We were chosen as one of the recipients of the Alabama Scenic River Trail (ASRT) Waterway Enhancement Program grants and used these funds specifically for these launches. This program supports local organizations in their efforts to enhance freshwater recreation opportunities across Alabama.
